Description
Ikan terubok is a well-known brackish water fish found mainly in coastal and estuarine areas of Southeast Asia, especially in Sarawak. It is highly prized for its rich, flavorful flesh and distinctive roe (telur terubok), which is considered a delicacy. Terubok has a firm yet tender texture with natural oiliness that enhances its savory taste. Although the fish contains many fine bones, its unique flavor makes it a favorite in traditional Malaysian cuisine.
